About Shaping Safer Futures

Shaping Safer Futures® is an education programme by The Safety Superhero Academy®, designed to bring safety, health and wellbeing into everyday learning - from early years through to Key Stage 2.

Why we exist

Safety, health and wellbeing are fundamental life skills - yet they are not consistently embedded in early education. Too often, they are introduced later in life as rules to follow, rather than values to understand and live by.

We exist to change that.

By starting earlier and implementing The Safety Superhero Method®, we can help children develop the awareness, confidence and habits that shape safer behaviours for life - while also supporting wider social value, from community wellbeing to future skills and career awareness.

Our Approach

Our work brings together education and industry combining real-world insight with creative, engaging learning. Through the Shaping Safer Futures® programme and the wider work of The Safety Superhero Academy®, we support educators to build confidence, awareness and responsibility in children from the very start of their learning journey. This includes:

Meet our Founder 

Hello, I’m Beth.
I'm a Chartered safety professional, children’s author, keynote speaker, and the creator of The Safety Superhero Academy® and Shaping Safer Futures®.

My career began in construction and engineering, where I spent over a decade working in safety-critical environments. During that time, I saw first-hand that while we focused heavily on compliance, we weren’t always addressing the behaviours and understanding behind it. Alongside my industry work, I’ve supported early career development, contributed to education and policy initiatives, and worked closely with educators. It became clear that if we want to create lasting change, we need to start much earlier.

That belief led me to write The Safety Superhero, a children’s book inspired by my son, to introduce safety in a way that felt engaging and relatable. The response showed there was a real need for a different approach...
